Welcoming the 2nd Semester.

Assalamulaikum semua & Salam Sejahtera,
Saya ada penggumuman so silalah baca,
Dalam bentuk pantun karangan Salwa,
Teringat tah jua malam BruoNZ di negara tercinta.

Hari berganti bulan semester 2 tiba kini,
BASS family pun sudah bertambah ahli,
Ada baiknya berkumpul sesama kitani,
Dapat jua mengeratkan tali silaturrahmi.

16hb Ogos hari dipilih,
Hari Ahad pukul 2 jangan salah tarikh,
Kepada Ka Suh diucap terima kasih,
Pasal sudi menjadi host tanpa dalih.

Berkumpul saja memang inda cukup,
Kalau nada makanan kan disumbat ke mulut,
Jadinya biskita kami jemput,
Membawa makanan minuman sedikit pun cukup.

Sibuk atu perkara biasa,
Apatah lagi senior final year,
Tapi datang sekajap pun inda apa,
Asalkan kitani dapat berkumpul bersama.

Pantun ani berakhir di sini,
Jangan lupa pasal gathering ani,
Insyallah dengan izin Ilahi,
Berjumpa jua kitani di sana nanti.

And macam biasa.. Please let us know what you're bringing in the comment box :)

Phone cards

Assalamualaikum all,

For those of you who use supplementary phone cards to call home, I found this enticing web. Personally I found the Africa Home the best at 300 minutes or so for $8.99 (just insert Brunei in the country space)at a minimal rate of 0.05 cent per minute and there is no rounding of the minute!!.

Have a good day! Bila lagi makan?

Influenza A (H1N1) Info

Hi everyone,

H1N1 Flu cases are on the rise. To date, 29 cases have been reported in Brunei and hopefully no more to come. I know some of us, well almost all of us, would not be staying in during the holidays. So it is part of my obligation to share with you guys some tips/precautions that I've got from the MOH website.

10 steps for keeping yourself and others safe:

  1. Wash hands frequently - with soap or alcohol-based gel sanitizer or disposable wipes.
  2. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  3. Avoid close contact - especially with those who are sick
  4. Stay home when feeling not well
  5. Cover mouth and nose with tissue when coughing and sneezing
  6. Keep distance from others if you're unwell
  7. Practise good health habits - drink plenty of water, sleep well etc.
  8. Consult doctor if you have signs of serious illnesses such as difficulty in breathing, confusion and severe vomiting.
  9. Defer travel to affected places if possible.
  10. Keep updated with the situation.
Symptoms of Influenza (H1N1):
  • High Fever (>38 degree celcius)
  • Sore throat
  • Cough and runny nose
  • Joint and muscle aches
  • Fatigue
  • Breathlessness
  • Vomiting and Diarrhea occassionally
If you have any of those symptoms and have been visiting to affected areas, please go to clinics and hospitals for medical check-up and further treatments.

To download those leaflets, click here and here.

Lastly, have a nice holiday and stay safe everyone. :)

Time to get some $$$$$$

Assalamualaikum everyone,

I am forwarding this invitation to take part in a Contact Lens study. It's not my study. Sorry I could not attach the PDF file that comes with this message, however there is a $20 reimbursement for each visit, therefore a total of $100 for the 5 visits.

I don't know the details of the study but you can direct your queries to the student at her email below.I think normals who never wear contact lens may also take part in the study.

All the best with your coming exams.

Dear All,

We are recruiting volunteers for a contact lens study (we have Plano lenses as well).

Briefly, you will be required to wear contact lenses 8 hours per day/ 5 days per week. This is for a minimum of 14 days or maximum of 21 days (participant's choice).

It involves 5 visits in total and a gift voucher of $20 per visit as a compensation for the travelling expenses.

Interested participants are requested to contact either
Dr Isabelle Jalbert on i.jalbert@unsw.edu.au
or
Moneisha Gokhale on moneishagokhale@gmail.com

Please find attached, the study poster.

Kind Regards,
Moneisha Gokhale
