My Submission

Hi guys i did some mod of what hadee has posted up along with a new logo, but my design has less testosterones =P

Logo A - Just did it tonight, Koala Logo. Inspired by WWF logo. I love it. The advantage of this logo compared with the roo version is that this would be very ideal to be put on polo shirts etc.

Logo B - Kangaroo Logo with Red Stripes 50% less testosterones

Logo C - Roo Logo Simple. Minimalist, Contemporary. My fav. of the Roo Versions.

Logo D - Roo Logo Red Outline. Lazy. I hate it.

To commemorate this coming of age, we have to decided to first of all, get a proper BASS LOGO. This BASS logo's purpose is to symbolize our wonderful society and spirit. We welcome all Bruneians Around Sydney as well as all BASS readers to join in to help create this new BASS LOGO. So far, we have a few prototype logos below, and we need your opinions and CONSTRUCTIVE critism. Don't hesistate to comment or give your own ideas to what the ideal BASS logo would be. We thank you in advance for your contribution.

Draw your lightsabers, Jedi!

To the 'Village Elders' or 'Master Jedi' (this includes Darth Aerius ;) ) ,

On behalf of BASS, I would like to wish all of you good luck on your individual thesis presentations. I pray that what you all have worked your butt off for will be greatly rewarded.

In other words, kick butt guys!

Hope you all get black robes (that has always been the colour of graduation robes right??) at the end of this. In the meantime, enjoy bathrobes saja dulu...

Exam Diary

Hi guys,

I was just playing around with photoshop on a study break, at the same time talking to Hadee about possible bass logo design. I sent him a copy of a design and hadee popped up the brilliant idea of making the design as a t shirt instead.

If this design is well received by all, i would appreciate if someone headed research on costs and manufacture of these t shirts. Again, i'm opening this opportunity to 1st-3rd years to be coordinator.

Design is minimalist and fun... so theres no keris, ayer mulehs, oak leaves or books with latin scripture on the design compared to other brusoc designs. We're a student society, not the royal chamberlain. Sydney aura supposed to be fun, no?

Anyway, post up what you think. This is just a result of me playing around with photoshop anyway.

The week ahead, People. The week ahead!

When? Sunday, 28th October 2007.

Some would question about the embassy's function on the 27th. Go for that one as well.

You guys would be saying "WHAT??"

Who says you can't do both? Last year, Faiq, Najaa and me did just that. Rented a Car, left canberra at dawn and completed the walk by sunset. But if you must choose one, then go for the Canberra function, trust me, it feels great to be part of the celebrations there.

for more information and to register, please visit

7 Bridges Walk Website

Register by the 26th October

Just in case you cant finish, dont worry, theres FREE transport at checkpoints all around to bring you back to the rocks. Be reasonably fit for the day (waseh, macam banar)

As for the overused question of "Rul, Kau Pigi?" Inda, im not going. I got my thesis presentation the next day with an exam knocking on my door the day after that.

But we'll see. I've known to seemingly do psychotic things on impulse. we'll see...

ps. If you miss this walk, i'll be organising that Walk in Manly ive been promising during stuvac. =)

Raya Trip To Canberra,

We are thinking of hiring a van for the excursion to Canberra. The journey will take approximately 3-4 hours. The van fits only 12 people, therefore it is going to be a first come first serve kinda policy. We can accommodate additional 6 people and need to book the van ASAP (cheaper to book in advance). We estimate the cost per person to be around 20 plus or less depending on the number of people coming. Anybody who is interested to split costs on the fuel and hire are most welcome to contact me.

This Raya was highlighted by a performance from Yazid and Gang, a boy band who serenaded the students with a handful of festive songs, leaving some students teary-eyed.

Eh, apa eh. hahaha. I got all teary-eyed, alright. hahaha

Anyone Interested in Doing it?

as per Pg. Ayub's email with regards to hari raya pixies to Brunei Times, anyone interested in doing that one? you've got 5 days to do it as of today. While you're at it, worth forwarding those pixies to Borneo Bulletin.

Express your interest to take this job up under the comment section so we dont clash up. Juniors are most encouraged to do it. =)

again, selamat hari raya aidilfitri mulia. maaf zahir dan batin.

Poll on Lebaran celebration

Hi everyone, I'm gonna conduct a poll here on whether majority wants to do a gathering twice or just in one go. If the gathering is in one go, the plan would be celebrating the lebaran on the raya itself.. but if the gathering is twice, it would be a malam takbir after isya' and a lebaran celebration after 6pm the following day.

PLEASE VOTE: Each of your opinions do matter and will affect the result of the poll. So please do vote..

I will keep updating the poll..

Lebaran update

Hi everyone,

Due to the poll result, the plans of the Eid celebration has been changed to after Zuhr on the first day of Eid. Takbir will start the ceremony on that day and after that there will be a makan-makan. The foods that you bring is entirely up to you as its a 'pot luck' event.

The event will start at 2p.m. (Friday or Saturday). It would be nice if the menu for that day is known, but its up to you to take the responsibility to post up what you will bring.

Sekian Trima Kasih.
