Update on IFTAR with Muslim Communities In Sydney

Assalamu'alaikum,
First of all, we are in the middle of the month of Ramadhan, but I hope it's not too late to properly wish all Muslim happy fasting!

Last Wednesday on 31st May, Bruneians around Sydney Society hosted an Iftar for the Muslim community around UNSW. A total of more than 300 people joined the Iftar, and everyone was more than satisfied with the event and the food provided.

We would like to give our sincere thanks and appreciation to all BASS members who donated and helped in spreading the word about the donations. Our deepest thanks also goes to our families and friends who have donated. It was because of you that we were able to raise a total amount of AUD$4500.

Our gratitude also goes to the volunteers for giving a helping hand today, to help in transporting, packing and distributing the food, as well as for cleaning up at the end. The event would not have been successful without your support.

Arrival of New Students!

PCE 6th Intake students from UTB departed from Brunei Darussalam to Sydney, Australia in batches on 15th July, 18th July, 20th July, 21st July and 22nd July by using RBA and Qantas/Virgin Australia flights.

Altogether there were 66 new students - the largest batch ever of PCE! These new students will continue their remaining 2 years of degree programmes at UNSW, Australia after completing their first 2 years at UTB, Brunei.

The students were welcomed by the seniors at Domestic Terminal Airport and then they were brought around the University and the nearby shopping center to sort out the necessities.

Alhamdullilah, as of today, after 2 weeks in Sydney, all 66 students have got an accommodation (16 houses in total!) and hopefully have settled down and accommodated to Sydney lifestyle.

WELCOME TO AUSTRALIA AND CONGRATULATIONS!
