Lunch with HRD and Prof Rod Chaplin

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Assalamualaikum. On 9 April 2013, Bruneians in Sydney were invited to a free lunch and get-together session, organised by HRD Services represented by Dr Smitha. The session was held in the Mechanical Engineering Block, Level 5.

Here is a piece of information, taken from HRD Services facebook page, about the event:

Gathering for Brunei students at UNSW

The recent lunch reception held for Bruneian students at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, attracted a large group. The majority of Brunei students at UNSW are studying Petroleum or Chemical Engineering through the twinning arrangements with Institute Technologi Brunei. At the same time, there are also a number of students pursuing programmes in health, science and business.

The reception was hosted by Professor Rod Chaplin, Associate Dean International of the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW. Ranked in the top 40 in the world, the Engineering Faculty at UNSW is Australia’s leading and largest engineering faculty and produces 20% of the top 100 most influential engineers

The reception was an excellent platform for the students to share their experiences of studying at UNSW and living in Sydney. The students have settled down well and have even managed to travel a little around the region.

The students are enjoying the course, which they find to be stimulating and also challenging, and have the confidence that upon their return to Brunei, they will be highly employable, especially with Brunei’s expansion plans in the energy sector.

UNSW is represented in Brunei by HRD Services Global Education Link.
